because without that i don't understand why you would assume they'd been kept by a character who already knows who they all are when it's established 3 episodes later that reece literally has an entire room devoted to stalking them

I don't know about those files, but someone (I think Dan) has enough info on Lucifer to know what other properties he owns

Pierce does mention that he kept careful tabs on celestials on Earth, but I'm not sure he'd be dense enough to leave them in his office the way the shot kind of implied they were.

yeah that's kind of my problem is since it wasn't directly established, i was under the impression we are SUPPOSED to think it's pierce until we find out reece has been keeping info on them a few episodes later

he's got a ton of documentation around and cain has been on earth since the beginning of time so i don't see why he would just keep files of them all hanging around

they flash directly back to that shot of the files when pierce tells Lucifer outright that he's been keeping track of celestials in the episode where it's revealed that he's Cain

which I think is a pretty direct implication that they are his.

but they do flash back to it when he's explaining something of the sort!

I remember because I also thought it was Reece or the fakeout sinnerman so when I did a recent rewatch and it hit the flashback I went "oh, I guess that WAS Pierce!"

because i miss shit all the time too but wasn't going to just give up my theory after asking multiple times for someone to tell me when it was established and being ignored
