so since i got sick visiting home in december, my allergies have been a nightmare to deal with. i went in finally and got tested to double check my pineapple allergy, and i also came up as highly allergic to dust mites so i figured that's why everything was flaring up

so a couple weeks ago my throat got really sore and i felt like crap so i went to the doctor and she was like, it's fine it's just a cold it will clear up

narrator: it was not a cold

oh no

uh oh

turned out it was tonsillitis. so i go back to the doctor, who prescribes me antibiotics, and he goes, "are you prone to yeast infections? b/c a lot of women are on antibiotics and i can give you a preventative for that, too." and me, in my ultimate wisdom, says, "i haven't had a yeast infection in 15 years and i take antibiotics all of the time, it's fine"

narrator: it was not fine

so after a week of not being able to eat solid food (i lost 6 pounds), i started feeling a little better. go BACK to the doctor because i feel like the allergies are bad. get a stronger allergy med and sent to an ENT to get the tonsillitis thing checked out

turns out the antibiotics weren't as effective as we hoped and i was relapsing. so, again with antibiotics (my stomach is NOT liking this experience) and steriods to help it along (had to do steriods last time i got sick, too, also unfun)

and right before i pick up my new antibiotics i start to realize... yeah you guessed it

i DEFINTELY also have a yeast infection

o..... h

so the last two weeks or so has been me slogging through work, unable to eat properly and wanting to die

i had forgotten how absolutely awful they are. and the last time i got when i was studying abroad, i was young and dumb and had NO idea how to handle it so i just let it... run its course. i have no idea how it cleared up on its own.

but i have google and a brain now so i'm actually like, dealing with it instead of being miserable. (i also got super sick when i was there and toughed that out too until it went away. NEVER AGAIN.)

I get them whenever I take antibiotics, I'm so sorry

and you can get a prescription pill (fluconazole) to treat them that works better than anything I've ever found over the counter

(in case it's still bothering you & that isn't what you've already tried)

i got the OTC 3-day one to try over the weekend and if it's still bothering me monday i'm going to get in to see my doctor

unfortunately i couldn't get through to see my doctor before work on friday

that has to suck to get this every time on antibiotics, ugh, why are bodies like this

couldn't get in to see my pcp today so i popped into urgent care. OTC didn't help and i want to claw out my lady parts

The otc stuff never works for me. God i feel your so hard on clawing out your lady bits.

also have any of you had an issue with the anti itch cream making things worse? it kept making me itch more and then the last time i used it a few days ago it started burning like, it felt like someone was cutting me

so i stopped using that

so another update it's definitely clearing up with the new medication but god it's fucked up my appetite

i've eaten probably about 300 calories in the last 48 hours so i just stuffed my face with some taco bell to at least try and get SOME calories in there

one should not be able to go 14 hours without eating and still have to force yourself to eat -_-
