My first real RP experiences are WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back in the mid-to-late 1990s, in the Marvel chatrooms on AOL

Even back then, I gravitated towards the less popular characters (I played Synch from Generation X)

After that, I didn't do much until about 1998-ish, when I got invited by some friends in high school to join a YahooGroups game, which was essentially "DBZ, but all the major events are taking place over there, so we're following this group of idiots over here"

That spun into a DBZ joke game with a lot of the same people (it was the crackiest of crack), and a different DBZ game where it was "DBZ but with OCs in the main roles instead of the standard cast"

Also did a Gundam-based thing with a lot of the same people, which was mostly "OU fanfic where each chapter is written by someone else", with some side stuff RPed through character journals back on LiveJournal

I wish I could say exactly what year it was that it started, but via a Guilty Gear fan community on LJ, I got introduced to Clairborne, the quintessential "no-powers high school AU" game

That was where I met most of my online friends that I still have (you all know who you are!), and over the course of my time there, I played Terry Bogard, Zero (MMX), Ryuji Yamazaki, Duo Maxwell, Gert Yorkes, Laguna Loire, Mike Haggar, Ash Crimson, and Quistis Trepe (I'm likely forgetting someone)

I also dipped my toes into the game Sendoff, which was a zombie invasion multiverse/jamjar thing, with Waspinator and Kratos (GoW), but didn't stick with that one

I ended up at Sieben not long after that. Played, at various points, Waspinator, Chae Lim, Blink, Goliath (Gargoyles), Michelangelo (vaguely 1980s cartoon version that was actually a hodgepodge of different Mikeys from the 25 years of the franchise), and Starscream (G1)

Also got into Cape & Cowl, where I played Nightcrawler, Arcee (Movieverse), Crasher, and Dirk Anger (I may have played Duo Maxwell in there at some point, idk)

And, of course, Onorata, where I played Alba Meira and Nightcrawler, and kinda sorta met MY WIFE. So there was that. XD

Somewhere in there, I also played for a bit with another group of friends on InsaneJournal, a game called Pantheon which was all about the Greek gods reawakend in mortal bodies in the modern day. I played Phobos and Dionysus there.

Also, some time later, I'd play in an X-Men-based game on IJ, where I played Marrow and Blink. Don't remember that game's name much, but it involved a mutant haven in Genosha, and everyone had a PB

Back to LJ/DW, I also spent some time at Mostly Harmless AKA Gargleblasted, where I did stints as Gilder (Skies of Arcadia), Tommy Oliver (White Ranger era), Quatre Raberba Winner, Odin Lowe, and Tali'Zorah vas Normandy (and I might have done some time as Duo there, too XD)

I did a stint at The Wake, which was... well, there was a reason the game was nicknamed "The Wank," after all. But I have some fond memories. There, I played Marrow, Jazz (TF Animated), Robin (Teen Titans)... I think that's everyone. Anyway, left that game in the dust once some major drama happened.

(Oh, back in Clairborne, I also played Kula Diamond. Can't forget about that!)

One of my favorite games was Siren's Pull, where I played Slash (TMNT Adventures), Red X (Teen Titans), Laguna Loire, Marrow, and Gert Yorkes

(Jeez, okay, forgot some others: Elena (SFIII) and Ibuki (SFIII) at Clairborne, Terry Bogard and Freeman (MOTW) at Onorata, Psylocke at C&C, and Nightcrawler at Siren's)

Two separate brief stints at Mayfield - first with Chae Lim, and then a longer period as Knock Out (TF Prime)

Very, very short periods at a couple games as well - Discedo with Zero, Trans9 with Legion (Mass Effect), and Soul Campaign with Future Raphael (TMNT Adventures)

Then there's the mess that was Institute. Again, good memories, but a lot of things happened that were less than ideal. Played, at various points, Nightcrawler (X-Men Evolution), Nightcrawler (Wolverine & the X-Men), Sunfire (Exiles), Penance (Generation X), Marrow, Havok, and Nightwing (Young Justice)...

As well as juggling a large number of the NPCs there

Also played in a couple musebox-game hybrids, including Anathema (Gert, Duo) and City of Versus (Terry, Slash, Chae)

And the OC-based, Mad Max-inspired Used Future (OC named Keith Williamson, a travelling auto mechanic)

For a good long while after Institute, I stuck to musebox/meme/PSL stuff, until very recently

Came out of retirement for Cyberformed, a TF-based game, where I currently play Crasher and Knock Out, and have a stack of other characters that I'm trying to keep myself from apping all at once XD

And... I think that's it!
