customer of the day: a dad who, sort of smiling, beckoned me over to the phones, said, 'you might want to do something about this,' and hit a button to reveal the phone background: a giant yellow cartoon penis
when i saw it i laughed and the mom and dad laughed with me. it was just like... his flair for the presentation of it, the way he didn't tell me, just hit the button and THERE IT WAS, cartoon dick and balls staring at me in the middle of your friendly neighbourhood walmart
runner up customer of the day: the little kid who, while her mom was checking out at self checkout, realized she could make faces at the camera screen that's above each machine
sub runner up: the guy who, when the customer in front of him took absolutely forever writing in the 'balancing the checkbook' part BEFORE she even started writing out her check, and then insisted on writing out her check, and took forever at just about every stage of the payment process, didn't even act impatient. thank you man
I want to say he probably did. I hope he did. I think in situations like that not responding out of emotion takes conscious effort, like not tapping your fingers or huffing or pulling a face or whatever. I appreciated it
and YEAH I wish I'd been paying enough attention to see them discover it, they'd been standing in front of the phones for a couple minutes before one of them got my attention XD
