I need something to look forward to so I have to find a new fic now and of course the thing I’m in the mood for is hard to find. I know it’s all fictional either way but ‘and then it was all a dream’ endings make me feel like I’ve completely wasted my time

late af to this but I hate bleak, hurt-no-comfort endings where everything the characters did and went through was for nothing even though the narration strung you along thinking things would be okay in the end

Like i can get into stories that end tragically, dont get me wrong, but I hate when the story tricks you into thinking its NOT that kind of story

Yeah that’s terrible, one thing I like about Fandom These Days is that it’s becoming more normal to reassure readers that things will (or won’t) be ok in the end but not everyone does it

Same! I am really glad people don’t mind tagging with happy ending or reassuring people in the author’s notes, sometimes you’re not reading because you want to be surprised
