Oh, Goosey! There are some things you are better off not chewing. I promise your mom and dad will reward you with more things you can chew if they don't have to keep replacing what you are chewing.
I would flick your mouth when you try to chew any wires. Naughty boy
I think you forgot to mention the chewing on mom's fingers and toes , didn't you?
He needs more age appropriate toys.
What a list!
Oh Goosey-baby! Don't make momma angry!
I’m sure your dad was real pissed about the $20, lol
dogs chew because they're bored. multiple long walks, toys, enrichment, and distraction eliminates bored chewing. also supervision. constant supervision. you wouldn't leave a toddler alone in a room; don't do the same with a dog. King only destroyed her toys and Khloe distress chews. Chewing is easy to correct.
Buttons off a sweater... that's a choking hazard. Strings are life-threatening. None of this is cute.
he has tons of toys, we take him for walks and to run around the park. most of the time he’s out in the back yard playing. we don’t leave him unsupervised, most of this happened while other people were watching him which I get isn’t great but sometimes we need help.
woo, the plurk experts are out in force today
any other time it’s been because we fell asleep with him in bed or loose in the room because we aren’t perfect, or he was sneaky about it and we didn’t realize what he had.
i also think puppies chew just to chew & because they’re teething. he’s not quite 14 weeks old, so I know there’s still things we have to work on.
I wasn’t trying to be cute about any of it & sorry if it came off flippant and irresponsible.
I honestly posted it out of frustration last night, because he is a mess and a lot to handle but I love him to death and obviously don’t want anything bad to happen to him.
this plurk is written from the perspective of the puppy. that sets the tone. and I appreciate you sharing. and I hope people reading into the situation don't scare you away from talking about things openly.
Hayley none of my frustration is directed to you. We lost a puppy that chewed a cord and electrocuted itself when I was a kid. That is where I'm coming from.
But I'm totally going to comment that that much destruction is ridiculous. Puppies chew but the people watching him for you guys are not doing their jobs. Anyone should be concerned about that.
And people need to be giving you advice or tips. Not laughing. My god.
It's just like you said, puppies will chew, and puppies are still learning everything. It's a pain in the butt to deal with, but you will all three survive this phase and come out on top.
Goose, don't listen to all the grownup talk, that's for your Mom and Dad. Ask your Mom to buy you some safe puppy treats you can chew on, like biscuits and greenies. Oh, and don't chew rocks, just lick them, okay?
