my brobro owes me many videogames and I'm making him a list
what kind of games do you like
plus various vintage systems
what kind of games do you like? I'm obsessed with xcom 2 personally. my friends got it for me a year ago bc it's her fav game and I'm still playing it bc I got myself all the dlc.
I'm loving breath of the wild, even though I'm terrible at it
I mostly play JRPGs, I avoid online multiplayer
the ff8 hd remake was pretty good too
I also liked strategy games once upon a time
Fire Emblem Three Houses is probably up your alley
i've been having a lot of fun with ff type-0 lately
yeah i was gonna say fire emblem
also ffxii is on both systems you own, generally cheaper for ps4
fe:3h is good, but if you're one for sneaking around and murdering, i think the world of dishonored would be one you'd find interesting?
it's like a team-based action jrpg with some rts missions
not a jrpg but you should play control, i think you would really vibe with it! as for jrpgs, maybe odin sphere and nier automata on ps4? and disco elysium (which is on pc)
and when i say team-based i mean you have 14 characters with three active at a time (two ai-controlled because action), and you just cycle through them as they die
i'm very bad at turn based strategy games/rpgs, so i won't have any recs along those lines, sadly
nier automata is one of the best games I've ever played
have you played any of the disgaea games? I haven't tried the newer ones but the first few were great and I'm sure the new ones are similar
oh yeah nier is fucking awesome (says the person who needs to finish it)
Horizon Zero Dawn has some, hm. Issues re: world building, but it's absolutely a game that made me cry more than once
also untitled goose game just came out for ps4 and i am fucking excited to grab it, but it might be better on switch
also i just bought overcooked on the switch and we can all be bad at it together if you have the hankering
DON'T play DA:I, i love it but also: you've seen what it's done
i cannot, in good faith, recommend it
I think Divinity Original Sin 2 is on PS4?
fifthing? fe:3h... i’m obviously biased

but it’s fun!!! and you get four fairly solid routes to play through... yeehaw
ps4 spider-man is very good
I am also very biased, but fe:3h is very good. But if you just want a straight-up turn based jrpg that’s quirky, fun, and colorful, I’ve been replaying dragon quest xi and it’s made me laugh a lot
I've had a lot of fun with tales of vesperia although I haven't finished it yet
ffxii on the switch is the definitive version of the game imo, if you’ve not experienced it already
I would also recommend that
both ni no kuni games are on ps4 now, i haven't played either yet but i've heard very good things
aurajen: does it have any differences from the other tza releases?
You can reset your license boards and swap classes! Gambits also have sets so you can just swap between those as well
I think you can do that on the Xbox version of the game too but I like the switch bc it’s portable
Yeah it’s a very nice change for my lazy ass lol
aurajen ive seen your trophies and lazy ass is just hilarious to me
one day i need to stop being a lazy ass and do more of the endgame sidequests in xii
Lmao look......don’t at me....
i pushed through to see the end of the story instead of letting myself get caught up in them because i have too many ffs i've left unfinished because i burnt out on that endgame sidequest grind
i didn't even fight gilgamesh yet, a crime
when other ppl suggest nier before you do so you don’t look like That Person also suggesting it
agree on nier automata. also recommend Transistor and Pyre.
omg yeah just play every Supergiant game
ugh, plurk -- anyway watch the video and then play untitled goose game
the answer is always stardew
Type 0 was...something but you gotta play it twice (it has NG+) for maximal understanding. I like my murder children but wow
I liked persona 5 a lot but i would advise waiting for the fancy version in March
You know my feelings on Ivalice so 12 remake....oh! the Last Remnant remaster, I like that game
I already have the Zodiac Age on PS4 so like… hard to justify buying the game a third time.
As well as both the original Tales of Vesperia and the remake and HZD
And I think I have some of the Dragon Ages too but idk which ones
I am also already bad at Overcooked
it's definitely got an aesthetic
p5 is a very fun game, ye
red dead redemption 2: horse adventures
subnautica is actually great
there's one big bug that i don't think will ever be fixed but the rest of the game has been delightful so far
that sounds like it could be a Tales
oh yeah someone mentioned it above, it is berseria
my two favorite final fantasy things are class systems and ivalice I definitely already have ffxii
oh also gratuitous english, you spoony bards
Update: my brother got me Octopath Traveler and BotW
also a $100 gift certificate for more games
(if this seems generous it's because he has missed the last two years of birthdays/christmas)
