it's just a tool to gauge where your timeline falls on the reylo spectrum
2k19 thoughts on yaoi is thoughts about reylo
the relyo spectrum was my least favorite green lantern crossover
I'm dying at this reylo spectrum joke
I can't decide if the reylo spectrum would be a mid-2000s geoff johns event or like a weird silver age plotline
anyway I've evolved beyond ship opinions I'm reylo spectrum white
what is one thing you DO ship, beyond nick/lirael
I give you that answer because it's my fundamental middle school ship dynamic
oh the most popular things i've written on ao3 are a bucky/natasha, clint/natasha fic that i tried to make into a threesome thing but failed an edward cullen/jacob black drabble
LMFAO NO ONE ASKED ME ABOUT REYLO i've been left out
I WIN, BECAUSE I HATE STAR WARS AS A CONCEPT, I HAVE ASCENDED PAST THIS.
but then I can ask you about your star wars hate
I mean it requires someone to ask you about Reylo 😉
Which no one did me or anyone I saw lol
Ooo then someone asked on Jenny’s lol
Reylo reylo reylo, I made it out of clay
No one asked me I’m disappointed (I’m joking I don’t want that I’m tired of SW leave me be)
I remember long ago the ship wars of LOST which was the worst part of the show and ever since the exhaustion has set in lol
lol i asked jenny because she was in here
come to this plurk to be asked about cursed Reylo
(I have no opinion about it)
I was just going around being like what's your favorite/least favorite ship in [fandom] which seemed like a better direction. Hey what's your favorite/least favorite ship for Nat and Sif
I don't read a lot of fic or interact with fandom outside dwrp much which helps me maintain a lot of shipping zen, which also means that a lot of my comics ship opinions are just based on canon depiction
so my fav Natasha ship is Bucky but it's not a strong favorite, in that I like Matt/Natasha and Clint/Natasha too (and also have issues with all three pairings)
my least fav is probably either Tony/Natasha or Steve/Natasha, but I could see those both being interesting ships to play out. I don't mind how Tony/Natasha happened in canon as a fling, but right around Iron Man 2 they really played up his importance in her backstory retroactively and it made her less of her own character, imo.
She was never in love with him and it's really… bad… imo to retroactively imply she redeemed herself for love of Tony Stark!! Not how it went down.
Thankfully that went away once Clint was introduced in the MCU and the comics could play up that instead.
Steve was a case of bad 90s romance writing. That's a pairing where you could see it being interesting because it features two people with extremely different perspectives and they could challenge each other, &c, but in practice it's just written is "Steve is always right and Natasha goes along with whatever he says regardless of previous characterization"
also a side dose of creepy "I met him when I was 5 and he was so handsome then", thanks comics
I also don't like Natasha/Maria Hill or Natasha/Fury and when I told
medieval I didn't like Natasha/Maria she assumed it's b/c I don't like push-pull dynamics, but that isn't it, I just don't think Natasha sleeping with her handlers/superiors will ever be a healthy thing for her
Sif I have way less opinions about, I like Sif/Thor and Sif/BRB and I remain intrigued by the possibility of Sif/Jane
I was gonna say "worst is Thunderstrike" but worst is actually Loki
I don't hate MCU Loki/Sif anymore but in the comics Loki stole her body and gave her immense PTSD and even if it's not really the same Loki I don't think she's really over that and I don't like erasing the recovery arc KSD et al gave her
glossing over the horrific violation in "Lady Loki" is not something I enjoy or have ever enjoyed
thunderstrike
(I don't mind that Marvel has since dissociated the idea of genderqueer Loki and that specific plotline and I understand fandom is generally unaware of the specific storyline origins of the concept, so I'm not like… really mad about it but I do wish there was more fanart of non-Thor v3 fem!Loki)
But yeah the fact that comics Loki’s sort of.... genderqueerness came from the fact he took her body has ALWAYS sat poorly with me
I like that it’s divorced now, but people at the beginning were really terrible about it
I think it makes sense for Loki to be genderqueer it's just that specific arc was him being gross and not nearly as genderqueer as it seems on its face
and like, I played Thor v3 Loki!!
( as a side note was it Thunderstrike that was all weird in the what if that was Sif and Thor getting married because it all fucking blurs together after a while )
Sif/Jane is actually a big fave of mine!
anyway I also like all my flirty in-game threads with Sif, so!!
I have not seen a single person be asked about reylo and my list is full of star wars
ppl know not to open this box, perhaps
....this fascinates me because the only way I like Natasha/Steve is if Natasha tops
so I'm like "wait what when does Natasha just go along" and then I remember that fandom is often bad at things >_>
see in this case it's not fandom, it's "marvel comics writers in the 90s"
or well, really all marvel in any medium writers who aren't focusing on mutants make steve always right all the time, but some pull it off better than others
i trust fandom more than i trust marvel comics writers in this one thing
but I haven't actually gone looking for steve/natasha fic, which I assume is near non-existent for comics
Ah sorry I misread I was speeding through plurk late at night, I am sorry
There's a discord I'm in that is primarily Winterhawk but is pretty happily multi ship and is mixed comics/MCU and they prefer the version of Steve/Natasha that I do so I'm pretty happy with them
nah, it's fine!! it's still a valid complaint
