Happy tired puppy!

Indikon: Absolutely. She had some off lead time as well and was very good. Still only when it's quiet, so her recall is rock solid. She was 5 months yesterday. 💕🐾🐶

Good to get the recall well established before they get more independent! And doesn’t the time fly past?

It does! She's pretty good with recall, sit, wait & leave it. Not so much with stand or stay. We managed to get a last minute place in a novice (Kennel Club bronze) straight after puppy school, so learning continues until the end of Feb. After that I'm rather busy until mid-June, but after that we'll carry on.

Bembo completely flunked the stay at the silver test at something like 11 months, then did it with no trouble at all at the next one, which was about 4 months later after a break for Christmas and the worst of the winter.

I feel a bit guilty that he doesn’t get much training now, because he really loves it — though it doesn’t translate into a perfectly behaved dog!

I'm not planning on taking the tests, though I'll see. My friend's dog can do all the silver work, but only in class. She can't let him off the lead unless in an enclosed space, as she didn't train him out in the wild. She might try now she's finished work. Poppy could change as she gets older, but at the moment she's still strongly attached to me.

That strong puppy attachment is why it’s good to do recall training early, but having said that, I was thinking of doing some recall practice with Bembo this morning only he was glued to my side.
