Was talking to a writer-friend about reading/writing poetry as an aid to prose (studying poetry to help make your writing more evocative or whatever), and she brought up an excerpt of Gran and Gwyn I'd shared with this writing group about a year ago. She definitely thought I'd read it to them. I had not. Somehow that feels like a great compliment.
Also got asked by a great big guy in the group if I would teach him how to crochet better. "I've been learning so I can make hats and stuff for my kids, but I just don't think I'm getting working in the round correctly...." He was so insecure, it was sweet. So I guess I'mma teach him how to crochet??
Bought a lamp-that-is-also-a-jar today because Clover keeps pulling my childhood lamp over any chance she gets, even if I'm sitting there, and I LIKE that lamp and would rather not have it destroyed. (yes, I am more emotionally attached to my childhood lamp than I should be - I am aware.)
1) that is a cool lamp 2) I was going to protest and say dice would be fine but oh wow that really is huge. 3) the yarn looks cool 4) gallon bottles of water on your nightstand? 5) those socks are amazing
