I’ve been finding myself, at different times but sometimes on the same day, wanting to tell her both “you can often figure that out yourself if you take a couple of minutes trying it instead of asking us to do it for you immediately” and “I know you want to do this yourself but this will be a lot easier if you let us help you.”

The latter, generally, being when we’re running late for something (needing to go somewhere, bedtime, etc.) and she’s insisting on doing something herself that would take us 10 seconds but she’s having a lot of trouble with. Like her car seat buckle or putting clothes on.
