I played Donna coming from just before Devros opened the timelord part of her

and being processed

Moffat I think preferred being edgy but Smith did a good job acting around it to make it more nuanced than just Check Out This Edgy Guy

it felt like RTD got to the end of the season and had no idea what point he was trying to make so he slapped down a pile of technobabble and hoped it would distract everyone

what was great about Donna was that she was just a rando human but she was ethical and tried her best and brought the skills she had to the table, and then they just washed it away to be replaced with vague magic-science words because something something metacrisis

and then realized that was unsustainable and they didn't know how to write her anymore so they had to undo it like five minutes later

I was thinking about Rusty the Renegade Dalek collecting people to form a team of sideways-thinkers and gifted individuals to help destroy the Daleks, and one of the first things that popped in my head was "what if instead of the Daleks shooting Harriet what actually happened is Rusty was there undercover, shot the other Daleks, and recruited her"

Ooooooooo i love that idea

because I also hate how Rusty was used in that one mess of a special XD

especially as probably the only Rusty player in the universe
