it's not that he doesn't have a plan, it's just not very feasible... any of those tax changes have to be passed by Congress to be implemented

and unless the Dems keep the House and get majority in the Senate... they will not happen

any politician says "I'm going to raise or lower taxes..." It happens every election cycle. But unless they have a cooperative Congress, those things don't happen

I love most of what he wants to do... but I'm also a realist

Wealth taxes are really popular with people of all parties. If you want to be re-elected to Congress, you'll probably want to vote in ways that your voters approve of. Either way, I don't care about the "being realistic" arguments anymore. We need a total system overall and I think anything to push that dialogue to the front is a success.

So many dems act like we're golden if we can just roll things back to the Obama years as if there weren't giant, glaring systemic problems then too.

if you tax the wealthy they will leave the US. then who will shoulder the burden?

If billionaires will leave the nation if we tax them, but will strip the nation if we don’t, let them leave. Let’s see if that’s even true. Sure, that’s what they’ve threatened, but is it true? Or is it just to scare us into complacency?

yeah they might, im not saying they will, but that is a possibility. The rich have the easiest ability to pack up and go elsewhere. they have the funds.

im not saying bernie's wrong and that his ideas are BS, they are not. They are real ideas that deserve a chance to be looked at

but we can't do them all, and he won't have a chance to, no president gets that chance.

Back then we had less technology, “more time” (concerning the climate), and less information. We have all the tools, now let’s see what we can do.

Absolutely the billionaires will leave, they didn’t get rich by being stupid, but let’s briefly live in fairytale land that they stick around...you think they will idly sit back and pay taxes without passing it to consumers?
