(I’m also considering just getting a Juul because I’ve had them and they’re pretty nice, just... expensive for my level of infrequency)
Tobacco with less additives. I will say that a juul messes my lungs right up.

my mom uses a vape and seems to do alright so your mileage may vary- she got one that doesn't use cartridges- she can dropper in her liquid and she can buy whatever flavor/strength pleases her from a local shop
definitely good if smoke smell is something that you're worried about
try getting a cheap one-use disposable to try first- that way if your lungs don't agree with vaping you're only out like 7 bucks
(one use as in once its out of juice you toss it not one-puff only)
it's the 'honeyed oil' in vape juice that most people have problems with
