I'm allowed to petition for reinstatement for the Fall semester. It's not a guarantee or anything, but I was able to write a well thought out paragraph explaining that my poor GPA was a result of my choice of major, and that I'm confident I could be a successful student in the Fall if given the chance.

I'm hoping they'll be extra lenient because of the extraordinary circumstances of the past semester, and since I managed to make an improvement to my GPA despite my struggle with online classes, I'm cautiously optimistic.
