he should be from the lower east side
like he was… I don't want to say originally but certainly at one point
that's where jack kirby was from and that's a traditional immigrant , multi-cultural narrative
it made sense he came from there from both a doylist and watsonian perspective
after 9/11 in the comics he moved to brooklyn (like… as an adult, like a hipster) and people got confused and though he always lived there, as the cultural memory of the pre-war LES sort of slipped away
similar to how Daredevil being from "Hell's Kitchen" has gotten all goofy
i wanna go to that museum irl so bad....one day
brooklyn had a much bigger polish immigrant population in the early 1900s
and various other slavs but
we talked about it for a day in the museums class I took and I wanna visit but it's very far
i am not as far but everything is closed rn
nyc is day trip far for me
but this museum has been on my to go list for a while
it's a rough time for museums, in general.
yeah
howard is from the lower east side
howard is the true captain america
presumably maria stark was also from the lower east side
tbh steve's parents are kind of statistical outliers even in the les
but its fine jack kirby can do as he likes
well mcu steve's middle name is grant so he's clearly from maryland
but yeah he's from les in spirit anyway because jack kirby
what matters is that captain america is an illustrator living in brooklyn who wears old fashioned pants
also kirby briefly went to pratt so you know brooklyn does have that one
