actually is cool, b/c the cops aren't there
hopefully they don't come!!
If you have a desk or standing fan, make sure you have easy access to it in the event the police do show up, you can use it.
I donated this paycheck's funspend money to bail orgs and the ncaap legal defense fund, my spending allowance isn't huge but I hope it helps
turn off the AC, have the kitchen vent fan going, and stay away from windows if the police show up. stay safe, okay?
I live on an upstairs unit, but also I have neither AC nor a kitchen vent
Oh boy. just be as careful as you can then, okay?
the protest is completely nonthreatening
The protesters are totally fine. I'm worried for you if the police show up.
Yeah, I get that, we'll see what happens if/when we get curfewed
(they also aren't directly outside my window, they're around some more commercial buildings down the street)
update: they're starting to disperse, I think it will be wound down by curfew so no excuse for police involvement
They don't need an excuse.
true, but from what I've seen on my timeline, there are plenty of places where they are using these curfews in that way
and like, not notifying people of the curfew until after curfew starts, moving the time up arbitrarily, etc
if the cops aren't there now they're probably bothering someone else tbh
a lot of cities are doing multiple protests to try and keep the cops from following them
the portland police department is not good
but I would especially not like them on my street rn
