There is a way to make it work again!

it's a bit tedious if you've got a lot of accounts you're using

and that was looking real fucking appealing

but like, just do them as you want to use them

I can describe the method! Okay so

First, go into the lj juggler manage accounts menu and delete the account from the juggler

just do this one at a time

or you'll get confused

Still best to do it one at a time, if you can

Then go to this section of the account settings page

It's accessible under the "mobile" tab of the account settings, as a link to "advanced options" if you need to find it again

While you are logged in to the relevant account, click on the button that reads "generate new API key"

It should generate a key for you, it'll look like a random jumble of letters and numbers

Now, highlight that jumble and copy it

then take it over to LJ Juggler's manage accounts tab, which you have already got opened, and put it as the password for the account, instead of what your actual password is.

And now juggler will work exactly as it ought to

This is because of whatever fucking went down with the passwords a while back huh

Yeah, they upgraded their security, so now automated password entry is not a thing the database likes at all

This is a way of manually telling the computers that "no no, this one is cool, this one is legit"

It's annoying to use multiple browsers and it's frustrating when your normal tool isn't available to you

i do not like change :|

Change is scary

but in this case, it's technically making everyone safer

so we can all just use API keys and not stress too much

It was a hassle for a lot of folks to input a bunch of these, but like, once you've got your initial batch swapped to the key instead of the password, you just have to put new ones in one at a time
