What’s your favorite part of Bucky’s relationship with Natasha in the comics?

okay, so. I am a more active Bucky rper but I'm a much bigger Natasha fan

which probably colors my answer here, because I think it's nice to give her a relationship where she isn't the edgy one, I guess, for lack of a better term. she had a major relationship with Clint, but that began when she was using him for her ~Soviet masters~, and while she got better and learned better she was still in some ways at her worst

Daredevil, there are a lot of reasons why that didn't work and the primary one is Matt being obsessed with Karen still and also being a jerk, but he's definitely had a lot of moralizing cameos in her life since, and her other relationships aren't worth mentioning in this context

(and I should say I still ship… both of these things…)

but her relationship with Bucky is a nice counterpoint to her relationship with Clint, in that she met Clint in a rough spot and then dragged him down to be with her. she encounters Bucky (again) when he's in a similar transition period, but she recognizes she's been through similar things and tries to help him, instead.

and she's originally pretty scared of what it means that winter soldier is back (and trying to kill tony stark lol) but she makes it her mission to know him again, and then to help him, and I think that showcases the development of her character over the years, even if the fandom for this pairing is way more about how they've been in love forever

I guess from a more Bucky-centric perspective I like that he has at least one deep, textured relationship that isn't with Steve

it's good for characters to have multiple deep relationship in an ongoing format like comics, imo
a well-written series for them where no one loses their memory would be A+

I guess "Tales of Suspense" was a Bucky/Clint/Natasha book

which is funny because I wrote a Bucky/Clint/Natasha fic aggges ago and tagged it "Tales of Suspense" on AO3, because it featured a lot of flashbacks to the actual Tales of Suspense era, before Clint joined the Avengers
