Anyone who has a close contact with a covid patient has to quarantine in a medical hotel in south Australia now. Such an excellent decision.

No... this is only a rule for South Australia. People previously have been asked to self isolate at home, but now with the situation in Victoria being so bad SA Health is really stepping things up a notch and anyone here who gets it, and their close contacts have to go to a medihotel to isolate.

In VIC only one in 4 people were found to be self isolating when the police checked in on them. I think because SA has previously been so good with numbers (touch wood) the government isn’t taking any chances with people not isolating when they should be. Hence they have to go into a Medihotel and can’t leave until they are clear.

So to clarify, we have a number of inner city hotels that are now solely being used as quarantine/isolation locations. They are staffed with doctors, nurses etc.

It’s brilliant I think.
