1st day of classes. Good to have orientation off my to-do....
Still a lot of things going on but I think I can manage again. Was definitely drowning for the past few weeks as the University and department folks kept throwing curve balls for orientation.

Also found out my absolutely toxic coworker is leaving in January, so that's amazing.

Pictures can't capture her little sighs and almost-snores that are the best, nor how she asks to get here, which is to wait until I turn sideways on the couch, then run along the back of the couch, meow, and stomp her foot just below my collarbone, then wait for me to help her down (since her hind foot coordination problems cause some issues)

Was trying to figure out why all the white things in my office were the color Hollywood tints movies taking place in Mexico, looked out my window and realized it's 'cause it's literally sepia-toned outside from the smoke haze.

I have a reminder on my calendar each month to renew my Twitch Prime sub to CritRole but it's just labeled CR Prime, and I keep misreading it as CRime, which, I mean, sure.

Yeah, it's hard to explain because pictures don't really do the smoke justice.... It's thick enough that you can't see beyond the first ridge. The world just ends after that hill. And the sky has no depth to it, it's like a wall. Everything is close because that's all you can see. And the smoke is low, between cars, like fog in movies of old-timey London.

My eyes are sore and stinging from it in the air. You'd expect there to be an active fire around any corner, tbf

Well, that explains why it seemed so much worse than what was being reported when I checked at ~10am.... Huge spike of stuff in the afternoon that took us from moderate when I looked to unhealthy by the time I drove home. Hopefully it'll clear back out, ugh.
