Have I ever been mentioned how much I love how snuggly she is? Anytime I stretch out on the couch, she comes asking to burrow in. This is her 3rd nap request today.
One of our grads (whom I enjoy very much and who has always been cheerful and distinctly person/patient-focused) just came in to talk (mostly about licensing paperwork, but other stuff too) and we got talking about JK Rowling and
the discrimination the T in LGBT face, binary and nonbinary, and those who are so LGB-friendly but not necessarily T or A friendly. He got all excited to learn that the A existed and what it stands for and left my office taking notes on ace and aro identities so he could go do research when he got home.
Very heartening. But also, we have some content to learn about trans folk in our curriculum, but it's pretty clear we need some more on other LGBTQIA+ topics.
We recently got new accreditation standards that include directives to include material on gender identity. I feel like there's an opportunity here, I just have to figure out how to propose it to the faculty.
Ah, I see. Clearing out a filing cabinet's little label things and checking to see if I can reuse the backs of any of them..... A mysterious kind of fortune cookie.
