i watched/am currently watching a video essay re: the problems with tlou2

and this dude almost has me convinced that tlou2 was a mistake

i mean, in my heart i still love the second game and i accept it for what it is flaws and all

but

this rewrite got me wishing the game was a lil different maybe

other than the satellite phone which is Dumb, so far i'm kinda digging the rewrite

if you watch it, disregard the first bit. he makes valid points but i also think it's a little narrow minded in terms of video game storytelling which i think can and should be different from regular storytelling

because the mediums of novel/movies are so vastly different from video games where you are literally physically inside the story playing it

i finished it and it's not that great lmfao

it was good for a while but the ending is sort of meh, if it ended this way i would have been kinda pissed

i think he fundamentally misunderstands how grief can change you and ellie as a character

there are certain aspects of his rewrite that i like

i shall watch this video later cause o o f its so long but !! i am intrigued

lmk when you do!! i have Thoughts about it. i sort of agree but mostly disagree with his rewrite
