So, I got a humidifier that can read the room's humidity level and will kick on and off to keep the room where you set it.... I've been without a humidifier since February (I can't justify the plastic generated by only using distilled water, so my hard water means I pretty much need to budget for a new humidifier every year.)
And it's been sore throats in the mornings and bloody noses every day for a while, so so getting this new one in time for winter is nice. BUT it's also fascinating because I guess 45-50% humidity is kind of ideal,
and when I turn it on for bedtime, the humidity in my room has dropped back to ambient normal during the day, and it's literally too low for it to read for about 5 minutes until it gets it up to 35% and can start displaying it. Yikes on bikes.
Yeah, it's so easy to forget during the day when you're making you're own humidity and you're fine that this is also a place where your kiwis dessicate on the counter rather than ripen..... /stares forlornly at kiwis in kitchen right now
Was chatting with applicants before interviews got started and we were chatting about hobbies and somebody mentioned board games but not feeling like that was a legitimate response, and I backed it up and said I loved games.
A different applicant asked what games I like to play and I admitted that tabletop roleplay/d&d is a great love along with some of your more basic board games. And she added she also loved d&d and that her family's a big fan of games.
Made me grin a bit, but it was better when another applicant asked if we could explain d&d because she'd heard of it but didn't know what it really was. Yes. I spent 10 minutes talking d&d to my precious PA-hopefuls....
