.........I AM STILL LOOKING AND I'M NOT QUITE SURE WHAT I'M SEEING
it surely looks like it's suggesting I would go from 272 pounds to 185 pounds by December....3 full months from now.
yeah that seems like way too much weight to lose in that short amount of time
I JUST.........I DON'T THINK THAT'S HEALTHY
ideally you should only be losing 1-2 lbs a week
that's what I was thinking.
when I panic about my weight i jump back to noom, or calorie counter, or lose it and put in my specs to see how long a calculator thinks it should take me....and every since one of them was like
"Yep! Comfortably, in 2 years. uwu"
by like, June 2022. And this one is just like
2 years seems much more feasible, yeah
"Yep. in 2 months. December 2020. uwu"
wtf do they expect you to do, starve yourself?
that is what it sounds like.
I know people get good results from Keto but...honestly, I see myself doing really well and then just caving and falling off the bandwagon. And then feeling really bad about it. Doesn't seem good (for me) long term, which is what I'm looking for.
yeah with diets you don't want to feel deprived
therein lies cheating and then feeling terrible about yourself and then giving up
uwu you get me, sweetest Kaiya.
listen I'm struggling with my weight right now too
I would love to be able to shed a ton of weight in a month or so but unfortunately that's not how biology works
especially if you've been heavy for a while
I will say that for me, protein shakes have worked pretty well in terms of keeping me full and taking all the guesswork out of preparing meals
which is typically my problem-- I get home and don't have the energy to make dinner, so I order out :/
but if I have a protein shake I don't have to worry about eating unhealthy foods because I'm lazy
yeah....I'm cooking more and limiting how much I eat out. I don't eat as much anymore but I'm p. sure my body is like...just extremely confused.
jury's still out on whether it's sustainable long-term, but it's been 7 months and I've already lost 15 lbs
YEAH still a long way to go but it's encouraging
>:C JUGGLES POM POMS AGGRESIVELY
so I've been keto for about three years
ooh, really?? How has it been??
in the first week you lose a shit ton but it isn't reflective of what's actually going to happen
because most of that is water and maybe 2lbs fat
so if you're freaking out because of the graph don't because it will normalise to about 2lbs a week
yeah, I've heard that. What do your grocery trips look like?
it's been fine. I'm used to it now and it's easy
I'M SO CURIOUS HONESTLY....i feel like I've on and off looked into keto but it scares me because i still love a lot of foods that would be considered
illegal on keto and
my weight also stalls for super long periods of time which is annoying because I'm like BUT IM STILL FAT WHYYYY
but also I'm lazy and do dirty keto and would probably be better if I did it properly
I cook for a living which can make it complicated because I have to taste what I'm doing
rule 1 about dirty keto is that we don't talk about dirty keto >:C
clean keto: specific food list, strick macro tracking absolutely no cheating no sweeteners etc
dirty keto: no big nonos like bread obviously but all bets are off as long as it fits in your macros
you want some carrot? clean keto says no. dirty keto says as log as you don't go over your carbs fuck it yolo
I really excel in finding workarounds so being given a strict set of rules to manipulate works for me
do you use a calorie counter? also that...sounds extremely doable.
I am now really really good at making bread out of almond flour
oh my god how could you even eat that it's adorable
look up 'diet dr keto bread' recipe
diet Dr is a really great keto resource
also FB groups can be a good resource
I track stuff on Chronometer
but there are 2 schools of thought on calories
1 is don't. only count net carbs. 20 grams a day do not exceed.
2. is yes track calories and carbs but carbs are more important. all weight loss is done with calorie deficit so you do have to be in one
but there is a period of adaption as your body decided to stop using fuel from sugar(carbs) and switches to fat
so idk up to but but in general I've felt better since not using sugar to fuel my body and don't get bloated. I'm less hungry in general and my blood sugar is rock stable
I also seem to get sick less often but could be coincidental
there's a Netflix doc called The Magic Pill which explored how sugar affects people's bodies and try talk about keto a little bit but just in general it's really interesting and honestly horrifying re processed sugar and food in general
anyway thanks for coming to my unsolicited tedtalk
yeah sugar is honestly like... the last legal drug
nono, it's great to hear this sort of thing!!
I've been trying to hard to get myself clean from it because I don't trust anything that actually gives you withdrawal if you stop taking it
yeah. I LOVE sweets. I'm not even picky. fruit is great.
yeah. when i diet, my brain figures out that I have to cut out sweets. Sweets is harder than coffee or bread, or anything. I could just eat raw veggies and be fine until the cravings start and then i just don't trust myself
its more addictive than heroin and lights up the same part of your brain
how fuckin' scary is that
yeah, can't say that i like that
do you ever get to eat fruit? like...is that kind of sugar okay for dirty keto? I know there are several desserts you can make while on keto
i just absolutely hate artificial sugar. The body has a rougher time processing it is what I read once, I think...and it's just overwhelming
monkfruit sweetener has been my most successful sugar replacement
and yeah you can as long as it fits in your macro
woah...is that a solid sugar, or a liquid?? I-I....know nothing about this i'm sorry for all the dumb questions
like if you wanted to eat fries you could. you could have like 2 and that would be your entire carb allowance but
I've only ever found it in powder form
berries are v popular in keto
