Careful not to touch it with your bare hands, though
Bats are very important animals for insect control but they're also primary reservoir species for a number of serious illnesses
awww cute, but yah beware
Hope they weren't too hard to corral back outside :s A hummingbird got in once and oof
Hummingbirds are, like many small birds, absolutely convinced that they're the size of a dragon and twice as scary
i got him out with the tactical use of a broom and an open window
buddy! hope they get outside safely
i think mostly because he didn't realize the broom was connected to me
took a half an hour tho. last time i had a bat in the house it figured out that i had the door propped open, but this guy just didn't see my open window
also i'm not sure how he got in
also yeah i'm familiar with bats and, also, i love them?
this poor little guy was scared out of his mind, he landed close enough for me to see his heart racing a few times
i wish i'd gotten a pic of his wee little face
also i'm 90% sure he's an LBB and should be hibernating
which makes me hope that he wasn't hibernating in the roof and like, fell out into my room somehow
then again it's been like 70* here so maybe they're not hibernating yet?
and don't they typically have like.....a specific place they return to every year.....i'm actually not sure how social LBBs are
Very social, my research tells me
i hope he doesn't have friends in the roof
There's a BAT! Loose in Pen's house!!!
I am glad you were able to free the baby!!
I want to pet and hold bats so badly but it's such a bad idea and life is so cruel
you can get a job as a bat researcher and handle them safely and carefully with gloves
and put little tags on them
I want to touch the soft fuuurrrrrrr
I want to live in the slightly parallel dimension where bats are kept as pets
also where rabies does not exist because duck rabies
I don't want to imagine a rabid duck
I miss the bats that would swarm outside my apartment complex in the early morning... they were so chittery
