you have to click on albums and then manually scroll to the album you want and then if you play it from there it actually lets you play the music, and it keeps playing if the screen turns off. you can also download the whole album or individual songs
cant download my own playlists tho because gasp!! that would be...... stealing??????????
stealing my own paid for music that i arranged into a playlist of my choosing????
you have to scroll through your ENTIRE library they dont even have the most basic option to click on a letter and then scroll through everything under that letter
i get that most people dont like buy music anymore but for absolute fucks sake
it shouldn't be so hard to listen to music that i have already paid for, sometimes repeatedly
i mean i guess this means i have to live like a dinosaur and just listen to the few albums i have the space to store locally
I'm not the kind of person who usually says this
but amazon music is still functional
And they let you play your own music
really fucking wish i could download my playlists, it was how i kept track of music i had recently gotten
They have gotten more......advertisingy..........over time......but still.
see i do have an amazon music account but im hesitant to use any bezos products even though i stream on twitch fucking kill me
god okay does amazon music do m4ps
not that it matters since because gpm couldnt handle m4ps i had to re-buy all that shit anyway
And if you already have music downloaded, you can put it into your collection regardless
it'll just be under "offline music"
imagine having to buy a cd multiple times..... because steve jorbs decided he fucking owns that first cd you bought
I had that problem exactly once when I still used itunes and got so mad that I swore not to ever tolerate music DRM again
that was a wretched period in music history
According to my research back then, and it's still true, Amazon is perfectly content to give you DRM-free files for your music
they also use their player to advertise at you, but if you can just ignore the silent banner ads on the "home" page, it's pretty tolerable.
the "my library" page is the actual home page anyways
the thing is i bought like several albums during that time before i realized what was happening and im not even sure ive replaced them all cause i dont remember which ones i got
see and while using gpm i was diligent, i bought all the music i could legally buy. ive spent so much money on music over the years and now youtube wants me to pay MORE
i think its partially because yt music doesnt differentiate between music you own and music you want to listen to
so im like hello i would like to listen to my lord huron album please and it goes oh you mean the one on youtube right? and im like NO the one i BOUGHT with my MONEY that i OWN
and then its like ohhhhh thats in a different poorly made area
ita like hey you can pay us money every month to easily listen to music all the time or you can go look around in this warehouse that probably has your music in it somewhere but we dont have a map and the shelves are unlabelled
that album you ripped when you were 13 is in the back of this infinite ikea somewhere
to listen to your bruce springsteen album you must first construct this verfluufen with no instructions
you will not be provided a screwdriver
