I feel like I can't plot longer than 1 to 3 scenes after that I revert to "I have no idea how things happen to people"

/DEEP BREATH (ie give me 5ish minutes to get my head on straight to answer this question)

Step 1: Chose an impossibly long project. I find that battling over the fate of the world, uncovering ancient secrets, and falling in love tends to fit that bill quite well.
Step 2: Write many, many POVs.
Step 3: WRITE IT ALL AT ONCE GO GO GO GO GO FORGET ABOUT EDITING THAT IS A FUTURE ME PROBLEM.

I'm good at thinking of neat scenes but not that good at weaving a narrative that links scenes together, turns out

My first megachonker fic, tbh, was "OKAY BUT WHAT IF I REWROTE FE:A WITH WEREDRAGONS!?!?!?"

Oh. Oh right. And I also struck a deal with myself, at the end of November, that if I pushed the rough draft to 150k and pulled off a triple NaNo, I could buy a black friday PS4.

That was a pretty rare, perfect alignment of goals and rewards.
