Sure hope they don't leave us on a horrific cliffhanger.
In all seriousness though, I'm glad they're looking out for their staff and taking the time they need to make a good product. Crunch sucks and has always sucked and I'm really glad to see more studios moving away from that industry standard.
I genuinely feel it results in a better product long-term in addition to, you know, obviously being healthier for the human beings involved.
To my knowledge, this'll be the longest ever mid-season break to date. I think the only one that might even come close would be V3's? I think that one was 4 weeks and BOY.
The Outlaw!Yang theories were great but some of them went like...really way too far.
Ozpin is not gonna sentence a kid to death for breaking somebody's leg gtfo with that Game of Thrones nonsense?
I don't think we see it until stuff like this comes up but they have worked really hard to move away from a crunch state and it's showing. I'm glad they're sticking to it
I'm glad we still get three episodes before this, and totally understand this anyway
urbaninja Same!!! I 100% support it. And especially with COVID still on-going I'm even more glad they're making efforts to keep their people as safe and healthy as possible.
sasageyo ROFL yeah. We get a 3 episode countdown and then. THE HIATUS BEGINS. 8'D
CRWBY works super hard and deserves it.
ahahaha good for them but this is definitely going to be a cliffhanger
What crazy fan theories will we see in that 7 week hiatus? Who knows??
urbaninja They do. All of them are really dedicated hard workers and I'm so glad they
urgentmatters See, I'm just waiting to see how
bad of a cliffhanger.
Like V3's was legendary because we had Yang breaking Mercury's leg and being surrounded by army personnel.
All the other holiday hiatus breaks have been either natural mid-season stopping points or not as high-stakes cliffhangers.
But V8 has already been so high-stakes that I'm like...OH BOY.
And of course this fandom is legendary for going totally off-the-walls with fan theories during hiatuses.
For better or worse. XDXDXD
Considering it'll be exactly 7 weeks of break, I think I might try and re-watch all the previous volumes 1 per week.
The nice thing being that if I miss a week, I can easily merge some of the earlier volumes into a single viewing.
Surely they won't leave us on a terrible cliffhanger-- they put S3's finale on Valentine's Day!
But nah, seriously, they earned the break, and it'll be good to dust off the old corkboards.
lonewolfprincess GJFFJLK HOW COULD I FORGET THE INFAMOUS VALENTINE'S DAY FINALE???
But yeah I'm 2000% supportive of them doing what they need to do note to self...check out their latest merch
Y u p. (Hopefully it doesn't come back to cut down any junipers.)
And the hiatus theories should be fun to look back on if nothing else. XDXDXD
