SAD ENDING, and I don't understand how it would've led to this if they'd been renewed

The crossover episode with the 90s Sabrina tv show was cute AND dark
also, having the bad guys from this season of riverdale play faux-bad guys in this season of sabrina was amusing
unsure if The Trinket Man was a good guy or a bad guy
