it actually came out okay?
i made like. every burger related mistake
and it came out well done
but it was still juicy and tasted good so
if i do it again i might go really crazy and do caramelized onions
...aren't burgers meant to be well done anyway?
which i have also never done
well i know lamb burgers are meant to always be at least medium well or well done
well it also depends on personal taste
but with a beef burger i think the ideal is meant to be rare or medium rare
if it's ground meat you're better off cooking it to the right temp
like if you go to a restaurant and you get a fancy burger you're gonna want it like medium rare i think
i say, having not had beef in like twenty years
idk i know when i get bison burgers at restaurants i ask for medium rare cause that's how i like 'em
restaurants and at home can be different cases. depends how much you trust the restaurant to grind their meat in sanitary conditions.
but yeah actually like. killing the bacteria is the most important thing
at least i've never had a bad experience at a restaurant
and i've had uh....bison, elk, ostrich, and lamb burgers
yeah I think it's been a while since there've been any big ground meat incidents but it's definitely a different thing from like, a rare steak
also man, I want to try ostrich some day. birds are delicious.
bison... burger... I want it
ostrich tastes NOTHING like other poultry
I had ostrich once when I was a wee bab but it was horrible because my dad cooked it to a sad soulless husk
i'ts been a long time but i remember it having a distinct flavor and texture. it's not stringy or dry like chicken or turkey
also i know lamb is one you want to eat cooked all the way through, never pink
I've heard it described as a cross between beef and duck, which intrigues me
also also, i didn't know rare burgers were so dangerous until now, i kept seeing people order rare burgers at restaurants and figured it was fine
it makes sense that it's different from steaks
man.....i wonder if you could make a bison steak.......
i guess i'm glad my bison burger came out well done then
i do wish i'd put the cheese on sooner, it didn't melt enough
