mikel1: I often listen to podcasts as well, but while working, especially coding, it’s hard to concentrate while listening to those.

What podcast(s) do you listen to?

goodform: I find that I remember what I've heard even though it's only background noise. If there is a particularly interesting thing, or a particularly hard problem I'm working on I pause it and listen later. The stuff I listen to include Jimmy Akin's Mysterious World, American Catholic History, Bible in a Year, CA Live, PwA, Patrick Coffin...

It seems that I may have asked you this before, sorry if so.

It’s not concentrating on the podcast that I’m worried about, it’s being able to concentrate on my work that’s the issue. Coding can be complex, and podcasts keep me from really focusing sometimes, especially if the problem at hand is difficult. Sometimes I even have to turn off music.

yes, you did but as I said, if work or the podcast get "deep" I just pause it and save it for later....

and I only do it when I'm not (1) in a zoom meeting and (2) working on something that requires a lot of concentration

I tell ya, once you hit 50 the check engine light comes on, and I don’t know if it’s my imagination, but I forget things noticeably more easily. I’m really dangerous with something important in my hands, honestly, I’ll grab something, and then poof, I have no idea what I did with it. Just mindlessly setting it down somewhere, or whatever.

Depends upon my mood, I’ll listen to pretty much anything. If I need to concentrate, then it’s Mozart & other classical. Cleaning house it’s got to be something a bit more fast paced
