1. you're still just pushing a button 2. you're training yourself to not lock the car while touching the car, so now you're inclined to forget if you pushed the button 3. in paying to support the car manufacturer's idea of convenience you're creating more moving and proprietary parts to re-pay for later
conversely you do get the [curb'd] benefit of signaling racism and/or suspicion. the irony being that you've become comfortable waiting 10-15 feet to actually secure the thing
