I looked up how concrete is tested and it seems to all be some high-tech industrial stuff that they don't have access to
silencerp

so all I can really think of is "drop it from higher and higher heights until it breaks" and "put something really heavy on it and see how long it takes to crack"
Transient Anus

...You know, Legion is a very heavy object.

and for waterproofing... maybe "take two tiles, put a paper towel between them, put water on top of the first tile, then come back later and see if the paper towel is wet"?
silencerp
like they could make a box and see if it leaks but that's more about the mortar being waterproof than the concrete
Transient Anus
Yeah. Also: submerge in water for a day or two, come back and see if the tile has been damaged.
silencerp

so I could maybe have Indigo go "well our methods aren't ideal because we don't have the necessary tech" and Legion could volunteer?
silencerp

that works too
Transient Anus

Heck yeah.

People forget that even with strength of an organic level, Legion is big and heavy and made of hard plastics and metals.

You don't want a 400 lb person standing on you, and you don't want even a regular weak person swinging a heavy metal bat around.

They also automatically know how much force they're applying to a thing, so they can give an accurate judgement on that too.

Also, the regular organic that Geth are structured after are the Quarians. And despite their weak immune systems, Quarians are actually kind of terrifying in other ways? Like, apparently one was able to jump several feet in one of the books. (Given their leg structure, this isn't surprising.) The games hint at them being tough too.
Transient Anus

(Like, jumping several feet as in jumping from standing position several feet upwards into the air.)
Transient Anus

They can help break some concrete.

standing jump I think that's called? :-o
Transient Anus

Yeah.
silencerp

ok tossed you a tag o/
Transient Anus

Legion probably cannot do that because large and heavy, but there's a lightweight model of Geth that could probably standing jump over 10 ffet.
Transient Anus
They would jump super high and cling to walls like geckos.

neat
Transient Anus

Yeah. I fucking love Geth they're so goddamn weird and terrifying.

My big question is: will two identical pieces of concrete even behave the same/show the same strength? Like, forget impurities can the world even consistently get concrete right at all.

Indigo and Kaiba were able to use concrete to make walkways in Mt. Silver a couple/few months ago, so I'd say it's got a hold on concrete by now :|a

mushroom concrete's a bit new, but... shrug?
silencerp

I just saw the whole "mushrooms have marble-like skin" thing and saw an opportunity
silencerp

And I think that's something that goes with the spirit of the game? Taking what the mods give us and playing around with it
silencerp
(Just like they take what we give them and play around with it with what canon imprints become in the game)
Transient Anus

Heck yeah.

"colorful concrete made from mushroom rocks" just sounds like a delightfully wacky thing that fits right in imo XP

Pastel rainbow concrete, weird flesh tunnels, floating sky objects, crystal stars, and screaming fruit. That's a fun aesthetic.

One thing I thought of: The walkways in mt silver are made of just normal gray concrete, but what if they like... kintsugi'd it with the colorful concrete when it gets damaged?
Transient Anus
Hmmmm ... not sure how well that'd work with concrete but then again if the characters think it would work, why not?
Sorry I didn't see this until today o_o.

Maybe in Seto's and Indigo's thread, she can mention her mushroom concrete experiment him so we have more to go on for a possible organic imprint?
silencerp
Like after they take the mushroom down she can be like "I want this mushroom to make concrete with" and she can describe her process
silencerp
*experiment TO him, I accidentally a word
silencerp

It's funny, the whole reason I got the idea is because of the specific rock chosen for the mushrooms
silencerp

if it had been almost anything but marble I wouldn't have gotten it
silencerp

but since marble is just the metamorphic version of limestone....
Sueey, I'll just have to smack a reply back when im home /o/
