Was talking with a coworker about the proliferation of legos in my house, and eventually got to talking about those goofy little sets from really early in Harry Potter lego history where the blocks are, like, Bright Orange and pink - there's three, the diagon alley shops, the potions classroom and mirror of erised, and the gryffindor common room and dorm...

Got curious, looked them up... they're from 2001, retailed for $9.99 and are each worth $40-50 used, and more like $75 (for gryffindor), $125 (for potions), and $135 (for diagon shops) if new and sealed. Absolutely wild.

Yeah, all our sets are worth some coin these days--my chamber of secrets retailed in 2002 for $69.99, but used today is like $150-200 depending on condition (mine are all in extremely good condition), and like, $400 new.

The grass in animal crossing is starting to green up for spring, and it was such a noticeable difference for me this morning (even from yesterday, when I also had this same reaction) that I just growl-screamed, "GREEN," at Clover, who was very confused.

She gets all her food from a puzzle ball, and she had one paw out to push the ball when I said it, and she just stared at me, paw out, for a long moment before tapping the ball away lightly while still staring at me. "wat."

Been learning Japanese (albeit slowly) and while I only know hiragana and katakana, and don't know too many actual source words, it's fun being able to read and recognize words that have crossed into english, like ramen and karaoke, in art with, like, billboards and stuff. Hoping someday to be able to read the Japanese Goblet of Fire I've had for ages.

Was looking at a page for one of my favorite book series and saw there were japanese editions (!) — there were 3, and it's a three book series, so I assumed it was book 1, 2, and 3, but managed to read the japanese title and realized it was the prequel book but they'd released it in 3 parts in japan. ... Strangely proud of being able to do that.
