Elm is now definitely not on-board with this.

Vine is...definitely in Denial at this point, but I suspect anything happening to Elm would coerce him into defecting because he actually does care about her even if she's been so pissed lately she keeps blowing him off.

Harriet's the only one left that's like, "NO I MUST OBEY. I'M NOT THE ONE THAT'S WRONG. UR WRONG. LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU."

This was a nice "breather" of an episode before the final three since we know stuff is gonna RAMP THE EFF UP in a second.

Episode 14 might be more of a wrap-up than an intense conclusion but WHO KNOWS at this point.

I'm also wondering if, depending on how things go in this volume and possibly V9 if the Atlas problem carries over into it...if JN(P)R won't stay behind in Atlas for a bit to help with restoration efforts.

*Atlas/Mantle

Nora's been very invested in Mantle and that could conceivably give her a chance to find herself. Somebody who can "parse emotions" would be particularly helpful in mending a city that's been...very badly traumatized and damaged. And Jaune's just an all around good boi.

I'd be very surprised if Emerald isn't going with them to Vacuo because we know Merc's gonna be there and Tyrian yaaaay AND also gonna be dealing with her defecting (and whatever fallout comes from that).

And Penny will probably stay behind in Atlas/Mantle to protect the people for the time being because literally all the defenses are gone but I'm not sure if her and the Happy Huntresses (plus maybe some reformed AceOps/Atlas military?) would be enough to like...actually have things covered there.

We're also do for a return to Vale and/or Patch and given we know Glynda has an updated model that they made specifically to debut this volume, that might be coming sooner rather than later (since they prioritized her model over say...Sage/Scarley/CFVY who we know are in Vacuo).

BUT HONESTLY I'M JUST WMG-ING HERE. ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN.

Still really hoping Penny gets to that vault, takes the staff and then (GENTLY) drops Atlas to the ground. Because that's the only way anything is gonna get fixed there. Everybody needs to AT LEAST be on even ground and facing the same threats together. No more playing favorites.

I also...really hope Maria and Pietro eventually come safely out of orbit? Please? I can only assume they've been playing I Spy up there for the past few hours. Pietro's winning.

Yang putting her head on Ruby's shoulder first kills me, especially since whatever way they're sitting makes them look the same height? So it's like even more "THESE ARE TWO SMOL KIDS WHO LOST THEIR MOM"

Like I can easily see a perfect mirror of this with a smol Ruby and Yang and it hurrrrrrtsssss

SPEAKING OF THE HOUND, I'm so mad now because I can't tell if Ruby and Yang talking about the possibility of Grimm!Summer is the fake-out and it hasn't happened yet, or I'm gonna get double-faked out because yes, in fact, that is what happened. ...Or some other third thing.

Like dangit, I'm still...fairly certain it's the first scenario because I can see "Summer's still alive and Salem's going to use her to specifically try to hamper Ruby" being a teaser for the end of this volume (or next) but at the same time, expectations and subversions, gosh dang you CRWBY.
