2. what (if any) is a good, safe touch for your character? All touch is good. And even the smallest amount of physical contact means so much. Because people wouldn't reach out and touch something they didn't think was real.
3. what kind of touch is not comfortable or generally unwanted by your character? The really isn't anything. Maybe something like continuously smacking his ass?
But it would have to be a situation where the other person was clearly doing it to prove Lawrence was just like a big ol' sex doll or something. If that's just how someone flirts, on the other hand, that's just how they flirt.
5. is your character better at receiving touch or giving it? under what circumstances? Receiving. He just wasn't made to initiate physical comfort (because old west) or intimacy (because guests get to choose what they want, hosts are just there for them)
7. how does your character react to being hit? are they likely to continue a fight if someone else starts it, or try to de-escalate or get away? Lawrence doesn't know the meaning of de-escalate. If someone hits him, he'll hit them back, harder and dirty if he can. He won't hesitate to shoot if he can.
But yeah: someone puts a hand on Lawrence's shoulder without thinking anything of it. Meanwhile he's like: in this moment I am real I am valued and no one can take it from me.
someday, somehow.......hug
he doesn't read as huggy and she doesn't want to push!! she will learn, in time
No cowboy reads as huggy. It's the cowboy way
I think in isolation she'd pick that up faster, but god does it bleed easy into 'ship of strong and damaged people who could very well read this as an ATTACK and BREAK YOUR SPINE'
also would not want to damage his street cred
His street cred of: soft for horses
only hug in front of the horses, on the pony path
10. are there any gestures or touches that your character shares with a friend/team/loved one that are a type of code between them? A knee to the balls means you're a real boy.
11. how does your character’s relationship with touch change if they get tipsy or otherwise chemically unbalanced? It doesn't really. Lawrence is the kind of drunk who never truly gets drunk.
14. if your character needed to communicate peaceful or helpful intentions to someone else through touch, how would they go about doing that? Probably by not touching them at all but keeping his hands visible and open. And then by staying beside them like an obedient dog.
15 does your character gesture to draw someone’s attention to other people/things? are they likely to notice if they get pointed at? if they don’t point, what’s another gesture they might use? Lawrence often jerks his chin at things instead of pointing at them, probably because he's used to his hands being full of horse reins and guns.
He would definitely notice if someone pointed at him. He's a wanted man. That usually means he's about to be caught
