so Volta is presumably the name of his ritual of going over his notes

i'm assuming Volta do Mar is his equivalent of Shivers, and it's his ability to maintain his sanity

but it also seems to have kind of an image of splitting about it?

the black jacket which Kim associates with Seol gives +2 Volta do Mar, for being 'your own enemy'

so i think VdM works such that at low levels, Kim's too affected by bullshit, at high levels, he's able to wall off the bullshit by focusing on his purpose and rituals,

and at pathological level it makes him dissociated

all of Kim is a massive defensive wall after all
