Okay. Plus size ladies. I’m like a 4x and am coming to terms with it. But I’m super struggling finding clothes that fit me and are cute. And aren’t super expensive because yeah. I have some stuff from EVRI from Kohl’s and I like that stuff. But I want more cute things.

I keep seeing SHEIN advertised to me but like. I’m nervous and whenever I order clothes online and they don’t fit, I honestly get super over it really quickly. I just want to dress the body that I have and feel good about myself 😕

I like Cato, but it looks like there are no stores near you. I've also had surprisingly good luck with resellers on Poshmark and I know a couple of plus size ladies that have used Thredup.

You can sometimes find cute and not terribly priced stuff on Asos, too.

I’ll have to check all of them out. But yeah, I live in the land of nothingness.

Everyone does! Like. Chubby girls wanna dress nice too. No one can tell me the interest isn’t there.

I swear by thredup for plus size clothing. I love it so much. They list like ALL the measurements so I know that it'll fit when I get it. I also live in the land of nothing-ness. As far as actual stores. Maurice's SOMETIMES has okay stuff. Torrid is just over-priced non-sense. Forever 21 has some decent plus size stuff, but eh usually.

GretchenVonFetch: yeah I keep looking at torrid and while there are things that I like? It all seems so expensive for what it is!
Gretch VonFetch

its not good enough quality to be as expensive as it is. Also if you look at shein's size charts, their 5x is like a US 2-3x.

So you gotta be hella careful with those types of websites.

Ugh, yes. Sizing is so varied.

yeah. It’s so frustrating because women’s sizes are bullshit. They really are.

they are the literal worst. Though I gotta say, lately? I've been kind of impressed with walmart's clothing selection.
Alex Melune

Yeah? I’ll have to look there. At least online because the selection around here is questionable sometimes haha

I do enjoy Terra & Sky, especially the super soft tees.

allbutspeechless: I love the tank tops I got from them.

I like target’s plus lines. And they run big so a 3x might work for you. And kohl’s carries a few lines, including lands end. When you can get those on sale they’re great.

WhiskeyMonday: Yeah, and Kohl's does do great sales. Maybe I can get a card through them to get better deals now that my credit isn't completely screwed up >.>

And torrid has great sales and good basics. I love their leggings and they’re often on sale for $10

WhiskeyMonday: I’m a bit leggings wearer because why wouldn’t you be? 😂

please don't order from Shein, their products are low quality and they have questionable ethics/factory practices.

Plus Size Clothing, Dresses, Skirts, Suits, Tops, Je... has great stuff, it might look a little expensive, but they almost always have 40% off, and there's a ton of stuff in their sale section. the quality is great, too!

omgwtfbarb: okay fair enough! Just struggling to find anything around here that I can afford and in my size and so forth. It’s truly impressive the lack of...everything 😂

i own a ton from ASOS, lots of basics from Old Navy and Forever 21, and for nicer pieces i tend to get them from Eloquii, Universal Standard, Nordstrom, Reformation

sorry, i'm not trying to come off as judgey - as a plus size woman who works in the fashion industry, i am very aware that there are very limited options for budget friendly clothing that isn't ethically shitty 'fast fashion'.

but for what it's worth, i ordered a TON of stuff from Shein once. probably $100 worth, which was many items, cos they all cost nothing. not a SINGLE one was even wearable. they were complete garbage, and in the end i was not able to return any of it.

No no! I totally get it. I’m just having a struggle with it all. But these are some shops I can look through to see.

i will also second Whiskey's recommendation of Target - i own a ton of stuff from Target, and often the XXL in regular sizes can fit me, weirdly. even tho i am a floof.

Target online will have much more selection than in-store, too

I’ll have to check. I’ve had a struggle before with them, but things do change!

Honestly? Almost anything. I wear flannel a lot, cute tees, love some flora patterns, wear lots of leggings and stuff. Love maxi dresses. I’m just a pile of awkward with 4x tops and size 11 feet’s 😂
