So my two cats have this ongoing, not at all silent war. They don't usually outright FIGHT, but they are constantly annoying each other, pestering, and trying to outdo each other. Who can get to the prime sleeping spot by mama, who gets the good spot on the couch to look out the window, (cont'd)
who gets the best view when I open the front door and let them sit in front of the screen, etc. It's not a dominance thing so much as it is Bumi is an old, grumpy man, (he's only 9, but he was BORN an old grumpy man), and Leo is a young, hyper diva. Bumi was a solo cat until he was 5, so he just... tolerates Leo begrudgingly. Anyways.
Tonight, while I was watching Knight Rider, the bullying was over the prime spot on the back of the couch. First Leo, then Bumi, then Leo again. So Bumi, in a fit of genius I have not seen from him in a while, instead maneuvered himself up onto the windowsill (which sits like half foot under the back of the couch height wise)
And strolls over and plops himself. Directly in front of the permanently open 2 inch slit in my front curtains where they like to peek out. He's a BIG boy, so he just... totally blocked Leo's view and STARED at him.
I started laughing so loud that I startled them both and they scattered, but it was the funniest fucking thing I've seen in ages. And it was a lot less intrusive than the current games of sitting on mom's head until the other cat gets out of the prime sleeping spot.
