also something that baffled me about the outrage about Disney trying to work with China to make Mulan marketable there is - they do that now? With different cultures? Trying to make it respectful to that culture. I wonder like if a lot of that was just anti-China sentiment.

We have a lot of political problems with China, but that's not a good reason not to make a movie about a Chinese hero something respectful :\

my unpopular opinion: the whole point of cruella de vil is that she's cartoonishly evil

if they wanted to make 101D less sexist they could start by not reducing all the heroines to equally cartoonish ciphers

the nannies were robbed and smushing Missis and Perdita into one character was a disservice to both
