He doesn't really use them. Nicknames in general aren't really something he does, he usually has to be told not to be so formal actually lmfao

That said, he doesn't mind someone else using a pet name for him! He might get a little shy about it at first, but I think he'd roll with it.

E : EMBRACE. does your muse like hugs? what are their hugs like?

YES HE DOES Rean is a very physically affectionate young man u_u He doesn't give them OFTEN, but when he does they're good hugs - strong and firm and not so tight it'll break your ribs (looking @ u, craig family)

He also has a slight tendency to tackle-hug if he's in a particularly desperate mood. He's definitely nowhere near Millium levels, but it's enough that Machias was canonically afraid he was about to be mowed down.

A : AFFECTION. how does your muse show affection?

okay meme aside-- a lot of it is in just listening to people, reaffirming that they are Good and Important and that he'll be there for them if they ever need him. He can talk up his Important People to absolutely embarrassing degrees.

He's also more than happy to go off into a whole-ass speech about how important people are and how far he's willing to go for them if he has to. Looking directly at a certain bird that he's had to go off on multiple times telling him that he's coming home, damn it.

Even if he has to go to Gehenna and back.

But also, like I said upstream, Rean's very physically affectionate. How it comes out really depends on the person and how much he feels like he can get away with, but it tends to express as a lot of petting people's hair. Or, more recently in SF, forehead presses.

He would definitely expect that he should do it, but the question is if he'd ever actually get there.

He second-guesses himself over everything, and I can imagine him waffling with the ring in his pocket forever.

So, realistically, someone else is going to drop to one knee before he ever does. It's not impossible to imagine a scenario where he goes for it, but I think the reverse is more likely.

Or it's just. His partner getting mad at him for taking so fucking long to ask and he just produces a ring that he's had for like a year just like "well. actually."

Very easy. So easy, in fact, that he said it without even thinking about it in SF.

The problem is not getting Rean to say "I love you." The problem is getting him to say it romantically, because getting him to make sense of romantic feelings is like pulling teeth from an alligator. Once that's dealt with, though, prepare for the sap, because not only will Rean readily admit to being in love, he may never shut up about it.

Yes, although not strictly in the sense of it was broken by a romantic partner...

Crow broke his heart when he turned traitor and tried to pretend that none of their friendship had mattered. Then he broke it all over again, and much worse, when he died.

Which. Crow certainly didn't think the relationship in either case was romantic! Even though he tried to break up with Rean and Rean said no...

At the point at which I'm playing her, not really. She's certainly been broken but I wouldn't call that her heart breaking.

I think he likes them well enough, but he's definitely not well-versed in them or anything. His favorites are lino flowers, though - the lino trees bloom at the start of the school year at his alma mater, and they remind him of happier times.

I think he probably likes it okay, but in small quantities. He says in canon he's not super into sweet things, so I imagine he prefers dark chocolate.

Rean just genuinely believes the best in everyone and it doesn't even occur to him to consider that maybe handing over his heart like it's a cool toy he wants to show off might be a bad idea.

And once he's fallen for someone, he cannot be convinced that he's wrong about them. Trust Crow on that, he's tried. He has tried SO HARD.

...Let's give this a resounding 'meh.' To start with, definitely not, because he has no practice. Rean is absolutely a nervous virgin and has no idea what he's doing.

The thing about Rean though is that he is 1) a very quick learner and 2) very good at emulating what other people do to his advantage. So while he might not start out good, given a bit of time he'll at least come to meet the level of his partner.

And if nothing else, he is eager. That has to count for something.

Yes, she does! She hasn't seen many of them in real life, but she very much likes the idea of them, and would definitely just about die if someone gave her some. Of the ones she knows of, she likes roses and lilies best.

Ris has a tremendous sweet tooth, so this is very much a yes. The answer to "which type" is ALL.

She's most fond of pastries when it comes to sweets, though, so cookies or something would probably be the best delivery method of chocolate.

Despite all that trauma that makes it hard for her to really trust other people... she's startlingly quick to give her heart away.

Criteria for Ris loving you forever:

Much like Rean, the answer here is no because Ris has never been kissed and has no idea what to do. She probably starts out very shy and skittish about it.

Honestly... just spending time with his loved one. Anywhere, doing anything that made them happy. If he's forced to say one specific thing, I think he'd say sitting somewhere scenic and talking.

Despite all the dramatics that detail his entire life, he really just likes quiet, simple moments.

N : NAUGHTY. what is your muse like in bed?

Whatever his partner wants him to be. Which is kind of a sad answer, but really... Rean lives to make other people happy, and he's very much a switch, so how he acts entirely depends on who he's with.

Left to his own devices, though, he is a relentless tease who maybe (read: definitely) has a bit of a kink for leaving marks on people. He's also pretty gentle, which only adds to the frustration of the teasing aspect.

He's unlikely to be wholly submissive, since he's always going to want to be actively participating somehow. At the end of the day, though, he prioritizes his partner's enjoyment way more than his own.

R : ROMANCE. is your muse a romantic or a cynic?

What is cynicism? Can you eat it??

Seriously, though, he's very much a romantic. It goes along with the overly trusting and naive thing.

I think he does. But I also think he doesn't necessarily believe it can exist for him, largely because he really has trouble imagining himself as being lovable at all.

Still, given that he doesn't at all question when someone literally said they looked at him and thought "that's The One?" Yeah, he believes in it.

P : PARTNER. what does your muse look for in a partner? looks / personality?

Rean isn't actually that picky in terms of looks - he can find a lot of features really attractive! It's definitely personality that will win him over.

And as for that, he's definitely looking for someone who's just as loving and caring as he is (even if they refuse to admit it or don't think they can be), and someone he can just be himself around.

For as earnest as Rean is, he really does hold a lot of himself back around a lot of people. Blending in and being generally agreeable is the easiest way to just get by, which is something he's needed to do all his life.

Rean tries pretty hard to avoid rocking the boat (and to put the boat back on track when other people rock it). It's easier to just be agreeable and friendly and helpful. Sure, some people will be dicks regardless, but most people will at least tolerate you, and that's the best he figures he can ask for.

Being able to actually be fully himself, though, in all of his snarky, sappy glory - that's a freedom he doesn't often have and one he really treasures.

And of course, he needs someone who's willing to support him. Not that he'd ever ask for such a thing, but realistically the boy has issues and he needs someone who's willing to be patient and work through them with him. Which is another part of being Fully Himself, as well.

If people don't think of him as just a General Nice Guy, they're putting him on a pedestal. He just wants someone who can love him for who he is and who isn't afraid of all that entails.
