so idk how clear i made it when i said i got this job but i'm a web designer now, that's my official title
and in the past with web design work i've just been told EH MAKE ME A SET OF PRETTY BUCKETS AND WE'LL FILL IN THE CONTENT LATER
which. does not make for a good design process or often a good final product.
i get all of the web content already written out for me. organized into proper sections and with layout ideas and some formatting already put in.
literally all i have to do is design
and also everyone's been super nice so far! there's a companywide meeting ever monday morning apparently and this morning the CEO was talking about how happy he was that we were all remote and thus we wouldn't be in danger of catching COVID at work
and added "you have the RIGHT to live wherever you want. it's OUR job as a company to support you, wherever you go."
(he did specify "within the US," but like. STILL???)
also apparently at the start of the pandemic they did like a month of furlough because they weren't sure what was going to happen before transitioning to WFH full time and during that furlough, the CEO personally called every single employee to check up on them and make sure he could answer any questions they had and make sure they were OK
like granted our company is only 300-400 people but still. damn. that's some commitment.
and honestly "within the US" is probably due to federal work laws than the company policy
since working from abroad affects taxes and what not
and frankly they're not a big enough company to want to Deal with that
