had high hopes of being productive today, maybe even settling down to some tags and other things I need to write up
but a huge horrible dog fight broke out right under our window
there's some kid who is seen around here walking around here balls-first with an off-leash pitbull
surprise surprise but that's a bad idea and he shouldnt be owning a dog and it went after a shiba
it sound was terrifying. it went on for so long. I'm right above the sidewalk, couldnt see the dogs because of the awning below my balcony but could see blood and chunks of fur all over the sidewalk
people mobbing the pitbull, the shiba's owner managed to pick their dog, ignoring getting bitten, and they went out of sight around the corner...
but the sound didn't stop??
apparently the pitbull continued after them and continued mauling the shiba
i couldnt find my keys so i got there late but i ran down with towels
some other guy had ran down with mace
oh geez that’s awful, i’m sorry
i hate living on this side of the building.
if I had my keys I'd go back down and see if the shiba survived
but I went back upstairs when the guy who'd brought mace said he'd let me back into the building
and the pitbull's owner wasn't even there!! so the dog had either gotten out on its own, or the kid ran off
Wouldn't surprise me if the kid ran off. But my God, I'm so sorry Red.
Dog fights they stick with you. It's so awful. I'm just, hell, I'm so sorry
yeah I'm consciously calm but I can tell my subconscious is whacked
and the sound was so awful and it seriously went on for so long. minutes and minutes.
like the guy who ran down with mace was saying, we're all so desensitized to awful yelling and noise on this corner, that it was enough to even get us to come out
the first minute or two it's like ugh what sort of fight is going on outside, next two minutes it's like man that sounds bad, then the screaming finally got to the pitch of it being like death
and then lasted long enough for me to look everyhere for my keys, put on jeans, grab towels, put on my coat, run out across the courtyard, around the side of the building
normally dog fights are so fast
note to self in case I need it for later: the guy in the corner apartment on the fifth floor knows exactly who the pitbull's owner is
thanks
while I was down there talking to those two other witnesses, I got the story on the guy who ran into our building over the summer
it absolutely was a case of road rage and reckless driving.
he was swerving through traffic, and when he clipped the back of a van that had been waiting to turn, he swerved up onto the curb
with enough speed to knock down a street light, fire hydrant, and hit the building
