originally, I'd heard him actually sound nervous about the fact that everything was changing hugely in his PC block, where a bunch of gang guys were being brought in all at once and put in PC because of how dangerou they were

so much so that they had to give him a cellmate, in this block where everyone is supposed to be isolated

they originally let him request which guy he'd prefer, and he picked a guy who had been there for years and was already reading his books and learning to draw from him

so he was nervous about the dangerous guys and just having a cellmate in general

but then my mom told me "PRAY FOR YOUR BROTHER" because she heard they were taking away his current cellmate just as they were getting settled (since they both have lots of stuff and had to make it all work together in a tiny cell)

and giving him a different one and saying that he was really stressed out about him

so I was freaking out about that fhdjkg

since yeah he is very high risk for violence and bad things to happen for several different reasons, mental health being one of them

but??? sometime after that, and after I was originally going to plurk about my worries but got distracted, she sends me a text that she was able to hear him better on a different call and it actually sounds not as bad as she thought

so, thanks for panicking I guess, mom??

talking to him since then, he sounds fine. idek.

but yeah, today talking to him was nice. I'd been having some anxiety about it because our last talk got kind of intense because I accidentally dug up some trauma from childhood, and I felt bad about that

and life has been intense and weird in general and. idek. i dont know what specifically I was worried about.

but we ended up just talking about the Locked Tomb series, because he's almost all the way through the second book, and laughing about some of the things that happen and the theories he has, etc.

he's really sick though, which makes me worry.

his health isn't great.

and we're not sure all what is wrong with him? because he didn't go to the doctor much when he was out because of depression, and now he's somewhere where as long as they're not going to catch a lawsuit over him, they mostly don't care.

terrible migraines, feet swelling, at least at one point had something mysterious happening with his liver, terrible psoriasis (we think), shingles, and now getting sinus/upper respiratory infections anytime something irritates his airways

he thinks he has an infection right now, but.... he isn't telling the doctor.

because two of the guys on his block tested positive for covid and were taken away, and their block is on quarantine now.

he tested negative, but he is still really sick, and he is trying to hide that fact because he's afraid they will ship him out if they notice.

so... he's trying to manage his fever etc. on his own

said he wakes up every ten minutes to wipe himself down with cold wet washcloths, waking up on fire ten minutes later, all night

he had to move to talking to me on his tablet with the really bad reception, because standing at the good phone was making him nauseous.

so.... I'm glad that the things I was worried about before seem fine now, but now I'm worried about his health.

....also heard that the expensive stuff that I tried to treat him with through the commissary didn't get sent to him correctly, so pissed off about that. :<

I tried to get him some expensive things that are considered luxuries because of how much they cost

like fiber tablets that he's desperately rationing, and a packet of beef

meat is like gold, since they feed them... like nothing

so the fiber tablets got switched with... amino acid tablets or something?? and he noticed too late to try and say anything about them

and then you can only get $75 of commissary stuff a week, so since mine was delayed (because there kept being a problem with my card and they only process that after the window for that week has closed, so you have to wait for a week to try again) the stuff I sent and the stuff my parents sent happened at the same time

so they just... take off anything that was over the $75 limit. :T

no idea if anyone gets a refund or if he ever gets the stuff that gets taken out but

so he only got part of what I tried to get him
