apparently it was actually that we'd find out in January when things were ending, so basically, the AU continues until further notice

I'm PRETTY sure that I was like "this is normal until we say otherwise" but it took me a couple of tries to figure out it was okay to just stop answering people who were fishing for spoilers about "when things go back to normal"

right now it's kind of a one-way street

people can join the AU but they're stuck if they do

the way to get around it hasn't been introduced yet so we're kind of hoping people will be patient and not try to force it before it's ready

this was always intended to be a multi-month event

i got that impression from reading the event text, that it wouldn't officially end but if you needed your character back out they could break free of it

it's fine, we can just postdate things a few weeks further out

oh no -- characters can bodily move wherever they want to go

but they're still AUed

so they can go back out and be like "lol wow what a filthy little hotel you sinners have" and then go back home to their fam

and since they see themselves as demons they might want to take a round doing torture duty or something -- which I don't think anyone did on their own, so I might write a blurb about that on the next event to get people thinking in that direction

I tried to give people the idea without just going "YOU SHOULD TRY SPECIFICALLY THIS THING" because it's silly to expect one specific thread just because I want to read it

but if characters can just wake themselves up there's no reason for other people to do dangerous things to save them in future events, you know

Pretty much, yeah. I think the original plot included something like "you can try to help them but that doesn't mean they can be helped" or something

like if this was a physical thing and there was a portal that makes people grow new arms, you wouldn't expect the arm to fall off when they came home

(actually some people might expect that.......)

but I guess I mean THE POINT is that there is a cure but characters don't have it yet and I'm hoping everyone can be cool about it

Yeah, that's not how I read it. I guess that's my bad.

I guess my perspective is that like... Characters don't know that their attempts aren't going to work? So there's still threads to be had in their organic efforts

and having a moment where they try to help a friend who doesn't immediately snap out of it gives them information and puts them in the direction of a solution

Yeah, i definitely misunderstood or I wouldn't have set things up how I did for Rey . It's nbd in the overall scheme of things but not what I would have wanted to play had I known.
