I think one thing not commented on a lot for SB, not spoilers, is that like... For better or worse Lyse's attitude of privilege about "why don't you just rise up lol" is about the same attitude many players would have because, well, many are privileged and not that many people honestly think about oppression in depth beyond "just rise up lol"

so having a character that CAN get lectured and told why they don't "just rise up lol" is really essential to many people watching because they otherwise wouldn't get it

but for everyone else it sure is rough watching Lyse

I think a character in her position is necessary to onboard everyone playing through who wouldn't get it inherently and needs their hand held through understanding, but it doesn't make it easier to enjoy watching her have to learn it.

but I think having SOMEONE in Lyse's position was necessary as a storytelling element
