Ive lived in MA for like. Fucking sixish years at this point and I still dislike it 99% of the time
Starbucks however, is delicious and i love my local baristas because i am a snotty motherfucker
I just every once in a while forget i dont usually like dunkin and then stop thru one of the fifteen on the way to my job bc i just want coffee fast as fuck boy
And then i take one sip and go
Its so bad. Like i love that its cheap but fuck man
IT'S AWFUL and I never realized it was so awful until we got Sbux and Aroma Joe's
I wonder if the beans they sell in stores are as bad or if it's just that sitting in a warmer since 4AM funk
YEAH its all bad.
So heres a fun fact, coffee is an industry where beans have a patent
And certain companies pay asstons of money to have the right to purchase higher quality beans
starbucks pays The Most and actually has one of the first picks of the litter. After them comes most standard coffee retailers and other coffee shop brands all the way down through the like folgers you can buy at the grocery store
dunkins is one of the last ones on that list
Which is why their coffee is so cheap comparitavely. They spend significantly less to get it but it also fucking sucks lol
this sounds so absurd and yet. now im wondering about all the bad coffee i've had.
Being totaly honest im unsure if its actually patenting or if they just operate in a really similar fashion but like. like essentially certain companies have to pay to have a right to use certain beans
Which is like wtf
Most teeny shops either buy a- local or b- grocery store shit like the rest of us
But big chains get in on that shit
Which i did NOT know until someone told me earlier!
ive never had a starbucks i wonder if it'll change my mind about where i get my coffee if they operate similarly here
I think it's more to do with contracting with growers and third party roasters but YEAH essentially patents. Idk man
Personally i suggest any of their lattes with blonde espresso
Its more mild than the really strong stuff
terribletrivium: YES thank you i knew it wasnt like
actually patents but some weird adjacent thing
all the choices at starbucks kind of scare me tbh i just want coffee hgdhjf
FAIR it can seem super intimadating!! Which is why i also suggest the app just bc you can scroll thru the ENTIRE menu and take as much time ordering as you want if you are indecisive like me
blonde flat white is your best bet if you like sweeter notes and cream
^^ tee takin the words out me mouth
personally I like coffee that will put hair on your chest even tho I kill it with heavy cream so I will die on the cross of peets supremacy LOL
but it's a California chain that hardly has a foothold in the PNW from what I've seen so out in the Midwest it probably doesn't exist at all
i think the menus here in the uk are probably less expansive than those in the us
whenever i get coffee from anywhere i just get a cappuccino lmao
