IT GAVE ME CHILLS I LOVE THIS SO MUCH BETTER???
for anyone lurking, that's Louisa's VA actually singing Surface Pressure
did she not sing it in the movie??
this is straight up singing with no character acting
I thought you meant they had someone else come in to do the cover in-film
that was the song that got me
Me: AH. ELDEST DAUGHTER SYNDROME.
ahhh no no sorry for the confusion!
And yuhhh I have heard that is a common sentiment >.> I'm an only child and only got a little of the vibe. The song itself is growing on me, but hECK I love her jazz / cabaret voice so much (as I am partial to that kind of music.)
this movie did an amazing job jabbing needles into built in family insecurities, dang
AGREED.
Bruno is the character I sympathized with most; I've got a large extended family like that, and I'm the black sheep that left and ended up hearing the things they said about me in absentia.
I've seen it three times now; the first time I was like eh whatever this is frozen 2.0
and then it like. Sank in and started working on me and the second time around I was like OH okay.
I think they tried to do a LOT, maybe a little too much, with the runtime they had, but it's a solid ass movie
I really liked that the 'journey' was entirely contained to the house
that's not something Disney's done before, using the family as a wholeass world
One of the things that really got me hooked (other than LMM writing the songs) was all of the callbacks to 100 Years of Solitude
and a few jabs at Frozen in there!
