being in ryslig.... for him is both better and worse

better because people here have been rather kind and supportive. the people who are welcoming to him has expanded from literally two (his mom and sister back home) to like. over half a dozen he can easily name

thats been.. really REALLY helpful. and ryslig has taught him some important things about himself and given him some amazing growth and acceptance of who he is

on the other hand he is really horribly bothered by the whole eating people shit and all the god stuff that hes on edge just about as much as he usually is

life at home was a lot less complicated than ryslig, for a lot of reasons. he didnt really have a good job or friends or much beyond his very small family unit that spurred him onward. he didn't have much purpose back home. here he does.
but now he also feels like he has a lot to lose

also his mental health is down the fucking tubes rn but he is not fucking addressing that and you cannot make him

even if id just taken her from pre tragedy danganronpa the girl was under immense amounts of pressure and stress for perfection at little more than fifteen years old

let alone the absolute shitshow that was post-tragedy. the world has been destroyed over by the despairs as far as she can remember, she was locked in the old broken down school building with her classmates. none of whom she was really terribly close with though certainly they had fond relationships, and then their memories were wiped to kill each other

her last memory is being run over by a fire truck because she used one classmate to kill another, specifically the most morally just and good of them all. it's taken her - what fuck. TEN MONTHS to start healing from the trauma of just that murder alone

which is nothing to say of the trauma she still has related to her talent and career.

i thought she would walk toward the fog immediately but she surprised me by really taking her time. because celeste doesnt trust anyone, even those she's extremely grateful to for taking her away from her own literal death

shockingly, she also doesnt have a positive opinion of the fog either

she doesn't like the intentional lack of clarity, she HATES being called pet, and while the girl absolutely has mommy issues, the fog is hitting all the wrong buttons instead of the right ones

but the fog has been extremely useful in providing power and support to those around celeste, and she can appreciate nothing if not that

and the fog DOES treat her loyal followers well!

she doesn't expect or ask for much but the subjugation of the humans she has deemed lesser- something celeste may not agree with deep down but is okay with because shes very selfish

more than that, celeste loves things that give her power

so she will be pledging soon, but will be very 'i'm doing this For Me and I wanna be clear I don't like her'

the reason also beyond persona connection that she didn't lean into elias, is that elias's own main goal is directly against celeste's. Celeste wants to stay in ryslig, she does kind of think people who wanna go home should be able to, but realistically knows that isnt an option

most likely, the monsters are bet as a pot, so to speak. only one god can hold dominion over them all to be in ryslig or Not

and she wants to stay.

so certainly, those who are loyal to elias and want to go home she completely understands. if she had an actually good life before ending up here you bet your ass shed be bitter and mean about it

she just also will call them out on their occasional selfishness with their actions, which she has found many do not like

god it’s so interesting bc celeste and riley have a v similar fog view but ultimately celeste is more ambitious and wants more power and can reconcile that but riley Cannot and i want them to talk about that sometime
